Fire Safety Week

As part of Fire Safety Week all Transition Year Students visited Castlebar Fire Station on Friday 9th of October. The visit included a guided tour of the building, a presentation on the different vehicles, their equipment and safety procedures followed by the Fire service when they arrive at the scene of an incident. They also viewed a fire safety video and witnessed a chip pan fire learning how to deal with same should they experience it in the future. The Fire Service team stressed the importance of not leaving mobile phones and tablets charging while unattended. Hopefully this experience will stand to the boys in the future.
